I now have 2 kids in school!! It really couldn't have happened at a better time. Eclipse came out. If you don't know what I am talking about then ....
James is in first grade now. At meet the teacher (see Kristen Rogers link she's his teacher!) We filled out things about James. His favorite subject in school is ... Homework??? Least favorite subject is... going home?? What have we raised? Oh yeah he's Jared's kid. Jared was the same way. He just loves learning! I just hope it goes better than his first day of kindergarten. James got beat up for not teasing the girls at recess. He was pinned down by one kid and beat with a plastic shovel by another.... The teacher called me to tell me what happened and I started to cry. James is so sensitive and hates when people are hurt. (with some regards to Anna) When I picked him up from school I asked him if anything happened at school, he said no. I was so sad that he didn't tell me. When it was bed time I asked him again and he told me. He thought he was going to be in trouble. James told the other kids not to talk about it because the kid said he was sorry. I am so proud of him and can't believe he is going to be gone all day.
Anna was terrified to go to school because she loved her preschool teacher Chris Packer sooo much. She was genuinely scared to go. We went to meet the teacher and now she is so excited. I really can't believe how old she is. I put her in afternoon kindergarten because I need her help with Emmy in the morning. Emmy copies EVERYTHING Anna does and Anna is very good with her. They really enjoy each other and play so well. That is one of the reasons I didn't do all day kindergarten, because I need her! I can't wait to see what surprises Edward has for me!!

I can't tell you how much I adore your kids. They have such personality! As for Edward and Eclipse, all I can say is that all you girls (Ian included) are SAD! It must suck to close the book and have to come to the realization that your husbands are nowhere near an "Edward" (not sure what Ian says when he closes the book). I will say that some of us try to be a real-life Edward, best we can. We love our girls!
I'm on chapter 16 and it just keeps getting better and better. I can't put it down. I'm sad, but I'm going to read it again as soon as I'm done.
P.S. Brian, you are a pretty good "Edward", if I do say so myself. You spoil me rotten. Thanks! (for anyone else reading this, if you are around the cheese long enough, it starts to rub off.)
We had a great day today...somehow he was sure he was meeting her at the flagpole and when she didn't come, he came back to me and then we found her and I watched them walk home to make sure he didn't lose her again! I will coordinate the transportation efforts between those two a little better tomorrow. He is so great though, such a hard worker and good listener. I love the mohawk too, and the skull shirt. My kind of kid. =)

oh no, the comment above said that she hates jacob and I am in the middle of "New Moon." I love Jacob still... Now I am wondering what went wrong. I must go read. I am waiting for Eclipse to be at my doorstep today.
O.k., The story of James first day of kindergarden did me in. I am already a mess about it and I still have one more year to go. That story did not help my nerves. I can't handle that Anna is old enough to be in school. She was just an infant.

Cute, cute school kids! I can't believe that Anna and Allison are going to Kindergarten. It seems like only yesterday they were 2 and playing at the park in Fullerton! I have yet to go to the store to buy Eclipse because I know that it will consume all my time and I don't have time for that right now! As for Jacob vs. Edward... If anyone could like Jacob more they are crazy!
I am almost done with Eclipse...so good. Brian - atleast Ian is in tune with his feminine side- we know you were up all night soaking in the tub with cucumber slices on your eyes.
How were James & Anna's first day?
POOR JAMES!! I would have marched my Mama-self down to that school and taken a plastic shovel to those little boys' behinds...ok, probably I wouldn't really do that, but still what a horrible first day for James!
I recant my last comment. Although I will not read these books, I shouldn't put down those who do. From what Kim says, New Moon and Eclipse are far less girly than the first. So for you brave males out there, I shout "Read Away".
That story about James just breaks my heart. I swear if I would have know those kids I would beat them up myself! Gavin is going to have a really hard time with a mother like me. I am blog stalking because my sisters told me I am supposed to. Yes, I remember when Jared told me he had just finished reading the "A" book of an encyclopedia set. Silly kid!
OK, what is up with these books! I was blog hopping and I noticed everyone talking about them. I guess I need to start. I am an avide reader and this sounds like good reading.
James' first day of school gone wrong. How sad! I am with the rest of the moms. I would have gone down there and beat them both with shovels--plastic of course. I also can not believe that your kids are old enough to be in school. My last memory is me helping move you. Anna and James were running around like mad men. My kids are now Ana & James' age when you all left fullerton. I now feel anyones pain that has a 2 year old and a 3 year old. I hear it gets better:)
Ok...so I am confused...did the shovel thing happen this year? I thought it was in kindergarten because we don't have sand toys. If it was this year I am like the worst teacher ever because I didn't even know about it..he never said anything. Yikes!
