Fall Break

I will admit, I was not excited to entertain my kids for a week while they were out of school but as I was getting tired just thinking about it Karen (mil) called and said "would you like to go to DisneyLand"? I really don't know of anyone who would've said no... me included.

DAY 1 - On Monday morning we were off! James' cousin Ben and Addy came with us so it was me and 5 kids in the back. Ages 8,7,5,3,2!!! To my surprise, I had left over sanity for the trip. All the kids did great! The boys had gameboys and DS's, the girls had movies and coloring and I had my ipod... All was well. We were pretty tired so we just crashed that night looking forward to the morning.

DAY2 - I warned my kids that James' will have to see princesses and Anna would have to ride boy rides but Kim (SIL) who is amaZing took a lot of the older boys on rides. I didn't even really see James that day but he LOVED being one of the big boys. Thanks Kim. Meanwhile we did some kiddy rides and saw princesses with the girls. Emmy is the best age to take. She loved everything! She was so funny about everything. We did eat lunch at Pizza Port and when we were done we were waiting outside for everyone else. Apparently Emmy wasn't done eating and decided that the Sour Cream and Cheddar RUFFLES looked good at a near by table. So without even blinking, she walked, reached her hand in, grabbed a chip, and walked away. Karen and I were dying. The random people thought it was funny too and gave her permission to help herself, which she did! I had James Emmy and Anna and we were going to the princesses when we saw Alice, the Mad Hatter, and Peter Pan. Peter Pan saw that Anna had a Tinkerbell autograph book grabbed it out of her hand and took Anna with him. They really were running away. I thought it was funny at first but really they were gone. I was starting to get mad when I found them hiding under a clothes rack in a store. WHAT??? Anna says that was her favorite part.

I was taking the kids back to the hotel to take a bath while Trina just picked up dinner for them but during their bath I got a phone call that Trina souldn't find her car! ( Sorry Trina) to her credit the Disneyland parking is confusing! So we finally got everything situated and got the kids down a little later than planned and went to sleep. Ironically, at 3:30 in the morning an alarm goes off and lights flash.... Evacuate the building and don't use the elevators!! YOu must be kidding me was the only thing I could say. Trina and I grabbed our kids, Trina was looking for her wallet while I was looking for my camera!! I was totally thinking that this moment needed to be blogged! (The pictures aren't great but it was 3:30 in the morning) Now I didn't see any fire and didn't see a mad rush so I didn't feel the need to carry my kids down 11 flights of stairs!! Kuddos to Sheri for getting her exercising in that morning!! and Kuddos to Stacy for sleeping right through it!!! We saw some people using the elevators so we hopped on. As soon as we got down, people were coming up so we just went back up. Apparently someone set off the sprinklers and they were shooting everywhere. I did learn a valuable lesson. Always be prepared with pajamas. There were some people with some 'interesting' pjs! I saw some things that I really could have done without! It was so fun. We got the kids back to sleep and were so excited for the day to follow... which leads us to

DAY 3 - We actually got up and ready on time and were surprisingly happy! I was fortunate enough to ride rides with both of my older kids! It was so fun. Now they are both tall enough to ride the fun rides. We met up for lunch and pretty much stayed together. We had a really fun day together. Karen took us to Red Lobster for dinner which was so yummy and then we went to sleep.

DAY 4 - Everyone got ready to go home but I was going to stay another day with my friend Sarah. We went back to downtown disney and met up with my sister who was going to Disneyland that same week. My kids were crazy and being turds but to their defence they hadn't slept in days and before we even left the parking lot they were asleep. We went to my friend SARAH HULL's and just hung out. Our kids got along great and everyone had a good time. When her husband Bryant came home we all went to California Pizza Kitchen. It was funny to see the 5 little kids with 3 parents. After we got back we tucked everyone in and of course watched the office. My kids were sleeping in the main room so I jumped in bed with Sarah and Bryant and we all watched the OFFICE. Unfortunatly, I didn't take a picture. Really I don't know why because it was so funny. Of course we died laughing and it was a great ending to our day.

DAY 5 - We decided to go to breakfast at RUBY's which is on the peir. The kids loved being on the beach. We really looked like a circus act because it was Sarah and I with 5 kids. We were all in our pjs and the kids were crazy. Emmy stripped down and then threw a fit on the floor. I personally thought it was hillarious. I think I was so tired by this point that I thought everything was funny. I am sure the table next to us was not as amuzed! We then took the kids to the park. Sarah's cute sister Sandy watched all of the kids while we went to a scrapbook store and lunch. It was so nice to get out with Sarah and just talk. We went back home and I loaded the car and left..... I really stalled because I didn't want to leave. I called Jared and told him I was regretfully coming home. I wasn't going to get home until late and he worked in the morning so I decided to stay another night. I called Sarah 15 min after I had left and said... um can I come back. Thank goodnes she is so awesome. She said YES. I unloaded the car and we hung out again! Sarah is so incredably nice, we did all of my laundry so I didn't have to do it when I got home. The kids played so great outside we ate dinner and then put them down. Again my kids were in the main room so I snuggled again with Sarah and Bryant in their bed! We watched Friday Night Lights and then went to sleep. I didn't sleep in their bed if you were wondering.

DAY 6 - We woke up had a pancake breakfast and then I repacked the car.!! We said our goodbyes AGAIN and I was off. I know Bryant kept looking out his window to make sure I was really gone and they probably took their phone off the hook but I really did leave. The kids did great on the way home and my house was clean when I got home. Jared did a GREAT job. Not only did he clean but he CLEANED. Trust me there is a difference! I am so excited to be home in my bed with no fire alarms (wouldn't that be funny)!

You got some great pictures! I'm upset I didn't take any of the whole fire alarm incident. All in all, I'd do it again - I was a blast! Although I did become "Crazy, yelling lady" a few times on the way home ;)

I love the pictures too! I did have the presence of mind to grab my camera (It would have killed me to loose all of my disneyland pictures). However, I didn't have the presence of mind to take any pictures of the evacuation. Duh!

I love the pictures of the kids running on the pier.

How fun! Your kids are so brave. We had to force Jeffry to go on rides and he wouldnt come with in 10 feet of the characters, maybe next time. Sounds like you guys had such a good time. I love the picture with the girls and the princesses. Too cute!

You can come snuggle with Bryant and I any time. We loved it! I am SO GLAD you stayed two nights. We had a blast and loved catching up.
Cute pictures of disneyland. I still got a kick out of the fire alarm story. I loved the pictures of Ella and James. She died over him... but who doesn't... he is a doll. I loved the classic picture of Emmie on the ground at Ruby's! Such fun times. Come again.
