Time Flies

I really feel like it has been relatively calm the last week so I decided to repaint, make frames, and organize my house. If I mention this to you on the phone or in passing please stop me!! When I start these projects, all hell breaks loose. Last Sun. Jared threw his back out and couldn't work. He has a slipped disc in his back and had to get a steroid shot (he has been looking buff!) and was on medication that made him sleep. It was hard to get anything done with him home because he really couldn't do anything. You could tell he was in a lot of pain and the kids just wanted to play with him. My neighbors little girl had a day camp for kids so that was nice to put James and Anna in so I did get to ALMOST finish my bathroom. On Thursday I shampooed the carpets, cleaned the house and then decided to finish painting. At 4:30 I get a phone call from a girl named Jessica who I have a photo shoot with. She called to see if she could switch the location of her shoot. "SURE" I said, "when is it?" ... um it is at 6:15! AHHH! was the only thoughts in my head. I looked at the calendar and there she was! I hung up the phone. Called to get a babysitter. I didn't have time to take a shower and get to downtown mesa so I got as clean as I could... I figure I sweat during photo shoots so it's not that big of a deal! I got there with 2min to spear. The photo shoot went very well. I really like how the pictures turned out and the family was really easy going and fun to work with. I got home and Jared asked if I talked to my mom. NO. So I called her and my grandpa had been in a car accident and air-vaced to Scottsdale.

To make a long story short, he was pulling a little camp trailer and it had come off. It went down the highway and stopped. It had flipped my gpa's car backward into ongoing traffic. An older couple about 73years old stopped to help. They really couldn't do anything but they kept my gpa company until help came. A truck drove by and sideswiped the trailer into my gpa and the other couple pining them into the concrete barrier. the woman died at the scene and the man died in the hospital that evening. My gpa has broken ribs, toes, had a deflated lung and a large gash on his head. he is also covered in bruises and scrapes. I went to the hospital to give him support. For those who know my gpa or have heard stories, he is an extremely stubborn, stricked man. I never got a long with him until the last 7yrs. I have never seen him show any emotion. You could just tell in his eyes and the way he talked he was feeling guilty. With all of the fine details of the accident, it wasn't his fault. He was wondering why he was still here when he doesn't have a wife or why when they had just stopped to help? It was nice to see that he really does have an emotional side. He still tried to make jokes with the nurses and use humor as medicine. I did tell him I was going to shave his uni-brow because he couldn't move and he told me if I did, he would still find a way to kill me!!! Don't worry I will definitely try to get a picture of the uni brow!! That thing is awesome!

We planned on going to Jared's parents partial cabin; I mean the Lambson Lodge. (it's almost done) and go camping. There was really nothing we could do for my gpa so we still went. We did help however because we went down the same highway as my gpa and got all of his belongings out of his car and got his wallet and stuff from the police. It was just so surreal to drive and see where the accident was. I know he will be okay but please keep him in your prayers as well as all the others affected by this.

On a good note, we did have fun at the cabin. The kids worked on cleaning the cabin so that we could have fun! It rained a lot but it was so nice to get out of the heat. We just played and had fun together. On the way home, we have never had that messy of a trip so we just decided not to care about anything. The car was/is soooo muddy, they kids were filthy so we decided to go get everyone ice cream! Emmy enjoyed her very own dipped cone from Dairy Queen! She really wanted to sit by Anna on the trip so we moved her seat to the way back. It doesn't really matter except we couldn't help her with her ice cream. It actually didn't turn out that bad. We are finally back and actually have a busy week. Arizona Idol is on Tues!!!So who knows if my bathroom will actually get finished painted but if you come to my house you will know why!

Tricia, I am sorry about your grandpa, but am glad he's going to be ok. Are you trying out at AZ Idol? I know you'll do great if you do!

I can not believe that story. How fast things can happen and change your life. The blessing for that sweet older couple is that they went together and that they died serving. How long will your grandpa be in the hospital?
The pictures from the Lambson estate (that is no cabin) are beautiful. Are you going to be on Arizona Idol???
I hope this week goes a little easier for you. How is jared's back?

Tricia,

Okay so this post is really old and you might not even see my comment, but my brother Don is a federal agent and he and his partner were on their way to Show Low for an investigation and had stopped at the scene to help your Grandpa (before everyone was hit)and he witnessed the whole thing. He gave CPR to the lady until the paramedics arrived and pronounced her dead. He has an amazing story of the whole thing. Small world huh?
I was just checking out your blog cuz Ale said you talked about your BM on here.
