Can he really be eight??? I know it sounds cliche, but it seems like yesterday that I had him. Since the day he was born he has been a happy kid. I love that James can find joy in the little things. He doesn't complain and loves to make people happy.
It seems like yesterday I sent out 'potty party' inviations. (he was my first kid... I threw a party for everything!!)
Some reasons why I LOVE James!
* I love that he is just like Jared and would be so excited if he turns out just like his dad.
* I love that James will do anything to see me smile. He would make anyone smile but he always makes sure I am happy!
* I love that he helps with his sisters even though he REALLY wants a brother. I LOVE that he tells people being the only boy is hard work but someone has to do it!
* I love, but don't understand, that he is RIDICULOUS at math! (Jared's gene! He didn't get anything from me!) When he was four he would look at the signs to see how many more miles to LA then count mile markers and tell me how many more miles to go.
* He enjoys playing the piano. It comes easily to him too! (Wait... his love of music, chalk one up for my gene!) He loves different kinds of music and loves when I sing him to sleep.
* My favorite thing about James is how excited he gets over ANYTHING and how he wants to please everyone. Anna made him a telescope for his birthday (out of paper and a LOT of love!!) and James put all his presents aside and played with it and told Anna he loved it! Everything that he got even though it was brand new was not hard for him to share. He wants everyone to be as happy as him.

I LOVE you James

He sounds so sweet! And it is hard to believe you have an eight year old!
Happy Birthday James. You have such a sweet spirit and an infectous smile. Yes, you did get the best of both your parents (well, maybe not the math gene). I am happy to know you. Eight? Really??? Wow! I look forward to your baptism.
Wow you must be really old to have an eight year old! Happy Birthday James!
What a great post! Happy Birthday James. I have ALWAYS had a soft spot for James. He is just such an awesome kid. I hope he had a great birthday.

Handsome little devil! Watch out girls:) They grow up way too fast! Happy birthday to you!
#1. Will you please teach me how to be an amazing photographer like you? That last picture of James is priceless!!
#2. I have blisters...they hurt. What are you doing for blisters?
#3. That potty-party for James was awesome! I totally remember the whole "we're on a roll..." :) How have all these years passed us by??
#4. I'm stoked that we are getting together soon because I'm pretty sure the last time I saw you I was a sleep-deprived, exhausted woman. This is going to be a great reunion :) How do you feel about a G.N.O with sushi Friday night or Saturday night? :)
We enjoyed spending time with James on Saturday. All the things you said about him are so true.
James, I LOVE YOU!!

I think James is such an ideal little boy, not to mention quite a looker. I will never forget when I was leaving your home one time and he said to me, "Thanks for coming over, come again some time". I think that was like 4 years ago. You have so much to be proud of.
What a sweet kid and what beautiful eyes!!
I cannot believe James is 8! That is crazy but I sure hope he had a fantastic birthday... I remember the potty party at Chuck E Cheese's.. Those were some good times!
Umm...could that boy be any cuter? What?, he is a total looker!!! Happy Birthday James!!!! Geese you are such a good kid!!!
