We did it! Jared and I decided we were going to run in London's Run. It was a 1/2 marathon, 13.1 miles. We were running a little bit before but never really trained for 13 miles so I am proud to say we finished. Troy(Marci's husband) just woke up a couple days before and decided to run in it as well. We do want to do it again (not any time soon) but will be more prepared and definately train for it.
I can't speak for the boys, but I think I started off well. I even kept up with ALEXIS for the first 10sec. I was freezing and my toes were numb but the trail had mountain views, it was quiet, and I was feeling good. At about mile 2 a man passed me who was about 60 years old... this got me down a little bit but I kept truckin' along. Every mile or so I felt like I wasn't passing anyone and everyone was passing me. I didn't feel like I was going to slow but I was NOT about to speed it up. Around mile 5 Fergie started and Clumbsy has a fast pace and I have to run to the beat so I picked it up a little. Still feeling real good. Then I was so excited to see at the end of the road, 2 of my favorite cheerleaders.
MARCI and KRISTEN This gave me more motivation. After mile 7 the mile markers were not coming fast enough. At each water station people were saying... "Good job, Not too much longer, Keep going" For some reason I just wanted to punch them. Of course they could say with a smile that you were half way there, they could still feel their legs. At mile 10 I was about to give up. I hadn't walked yet but was very close. My pace looked pathetic and lo and behold here comes Fergie again. I almost cried. I have to run to the beat and i didn't want to let her down but I had to change the song, I couldn't do it. I am so sorry Fergie!! Then still seeing my cheering squad and knowing I was almost done, I kept going. I could hear the crowd and sprinted as I saw the most beautiful FINISH sign. I even got an amazing blue ribbon!! 2:21:21 was the magic number. All I know is that I finished and that next time I will do better.

Without them at different mile markers, taking pictures, and cheering, I probably wouldn't have made it. I would also like to express my gratitude for Eminem, Salt-n-Peppa, Akon, Beastie Boys, Fergie, and many others who kept me on pace and gave me the motivation and beat to keep on going. Also thanks Troy for lunch it was delicious!

Check you out super star!! How cool is that!! I hope to some day run 2 miles without dying! Maybe after the baby! You should be so proud of yourself though, what an accomplishment!! Woo Hoo!!!
That is sooo awesome!! I have run a 1/2 marathon before, and almost died! I can't believe you did it without much training. Way to go. I'd love to get your playlist-I'm always looking for songs with a fast beat to run to- email me

Wow! I was on the track team at Andersen and Chandler, and I don't think I ran a 3 mile race with that much determination. Good for you, my running days are long over! Now that I think of it, Christa and I both were in track at Chandler and I think we only made it to one meet. At least we can say we were on the team!:)
Way to go Tricia! You are an inspiration.
I too would LOVE to get your playlist. I am sick of mine. Please tell!

Way to go Tricia! You are the bomb of course! After this baby comes I may have to try and take up running.
Tricia! You were awesome!!! I was so proud of you guys
You look so cute in your picture! Way to go!! I want to find a run not when I work. I was so bummed and jelous that day!! Good job!!
So did you end up running the entire thing? How did Jared do?
It sounds like fun.
I bet it feels so good to accomplish a run like that. I'm jealous - but I know my knees couldn't take it.
You go girl!!! I am SO proud of you and your super running skills. My friend called me the other day. We are due 20 days apart and set a goal to run a 1/2 in one year. I think the last time I ran a MILE was in middle school. I obviously need to start training right now....but I'm tired and need a Dr. Pepper.
LOVING your play list. Are you a Beastie boys lover? The other day I was driving by myself and one of their songs came on and I surprised myself that I still knew most of the words. I blasted it and sang so loud and then cracked up at myself.
Back to you and your super running skills... MANY CONGRATS!
Way to go Tricia! I am glad Marci and I could keep you somewhat entertained. I do agree, thank goodness for Fergie.
Tricia, congrats! That's so nice that Jared ran it with you. I can relate about mile 10, I was ready to stab someone by then, but there wasn't anyone by me, so just had to keep going. Great job to you both!
Hey Tricia, I just heard that Fergie is going to headline the Tempe Music Festival, March 28th and 29th....
Truly amazing...
Congrats on such a HUGE accomplishment! I am getting tired just from reading about all of you who did that run. My friends little nephew was one of the kids supported by the run. She said it was incredible the support they had. She was at one of the water stations and was probably the one who you wanted to kill! :) Could you imagine running that with no tunes?! Thank goodness you charged the old ipod up!
Way to finish, I hate it when old people pass you while your running. I can't wait to come back and play basketball soon. Alice
IMPRESSIVE! I wish I had the motivation to do that.
